Dr. Shaun Medway was born and raised in Brooks, Alberta. He attended both the University of Lethbridge and the University of Alberta, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Honours Biochemistry. He then went on to attend the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List in 2018.
As part of his clinical training in Waterloo, Dr. Medway completed several externships in Canada and the United States, including an ocular disease and therapeutics externship at a Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He also had the opportunity to participate in an optometric mission trip to Ecuador, providing eye exams and glasses to those in need. During his final year, Dr. Medway received the Karen Tompa Nowy Memorial Award for showing exceptional care and commitment to his patients.
In his spare time, you can find Dr. Medway on the golf course or in the mountains, where he enjoys camping and snowboarding. He also enjoys playing hockey and is an avid Calgary Flames fan.
